Notre-Dame (Le Bourg-Dun)
The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady in Le Bourg-Dun , a French commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the region of Normandy , was built in the 11th century. The Romanesque church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1862 .
history
An abbey church stood on the site of today's church until it was destroyed in the course of the Norman invasions, the remains of which were donated to the chapter of St-Quentin by Duke Richard II . The 45 meter long church has two aisles and a transept . The originally Romanesque building was heavily modified in the 19th century. The oldest parts from the late 11th century are the north wall of the nave , the first choir bays and the north arm of the transept. The nave dates from the end of the 12th century, the choir essentially from the 13th and the south side from the 14th and 15th centuries.
