Nowa Rola (German historically Niewerle , Lower Sorbian Niwjerla ) is a place in the rural municipality of Tuplice in Powiat Żary in the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to what is now the Polish part of Niederlausitz and is located on the Chaussee between Lubsko (Sommerfeld) and Tuplice (Teuplitz).

history

The oldest mention of the place is from 1346 in the Meißner diocese register. The manor and the village belonged to different owners over the centuries. In 1791 a large part of the village burned down.

Since 1816 it has belonged to the Sorau district in Niederlausitz in the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1868 a new church was built. In 1897 Niewerle received a rail connection on the line between Sommerfeld and Teuplitz.

Nowa Rola has belonged to Poland since 1945. In 1990 the railway line was closed and in 2006 the tracks were dismantled.

  • Church of Mary Queen of Poland, built in 1868, with an altar and organ from the 19th century, since 1945 a Roman Catholic branch church
