The Gmina wiejska Nowe Miasto Lubawskie is a rural municipality in the powiat Nowomiejski in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . It has 8,216 inhabitants (June 30, 2019) and has an area of 138 km², of which 17% is forest and 69% is agricultural area. The administrative seat of the rural community is the village of Mszanowo , named after the city of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie ( German Neumark in West Prussia ), which does not belong to it as an independent township.
