Nueva Alborada , a district in the Itapúa department of Paraguay , was founded on August 30, 1961 by German colonists under the name Colonia Alborada . When the place was elevated to a district, it was called Capitán Vicente Matiuada , but in 1989 it was given its current name by decree.

About 6500 people live in the Nueva Alborada district, the center itself has about 270 inhabitants. It is surrounded by the neighboring districts of Cambyretá , Capitán Miranda and Trinidad .
