Alto Verá is a district in the Itapúa department of Paraguay and was founded on December 20, 1984 under the name Doña Heriberta Stroessner de Iglesias .

The Alto Verá district covers an area of ​​1,114 km² and has around 13,500 inhabitants. It is surrounded by the neighboring districts of San Pedro del Paraná , Obligado , Bella Vista , Pirapó and Itapúa Poty and in the north, separated by the Río Tebicuary , from the department of Caazapá .
