Nump is an alternative metal band from the Würzburg / Kitzingen area that was founded in 2004. In their music there are also elements of progressive metal and groove metal parts .

history

Beginnings / Sigh of Relief / 2004–2007

Nump was founded in 2004 in Nenzenheim , Kitzingen district . In 2005 the band appeared in the aftershow of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and End of Green . Several awards at band contests in the Würzburg area followed. This was followed by concerts in the opening act of, among others, Subway to Sally , Saltatio Mortis , Pain , Kreator and The New Black .

In 2006, Sigh of Relief was the first self-produced album. The music video Red Button was released in 2007 . Thorsten Geschwandtner and Sebastian Goeß became official endorsement partners of the Polish guitar manufacturer Mayones .

Reflections / 2007-2010

In the late summer of 2007, the production of the second album began, which was published and distributed in 2008 under the name Reflections . In the summer of 2008, the indie label Wolfpack became aware of Nump, and from November 2008 the two previous albums were available on the record label.

At the end of 2009 guitarist Sebastian Goeß left the band. Until Markus Ritziger became a permanent guitarist in October 2010, the position of second guitarist was taken over by changing musicians. Due to discrepancies, the collaboration with Wolfpack was also terminated.

Eruption / 2010-2014

In 2010, Nump achieved third place in the “Young Band of the Year 2010” competition organized by Musikhaus Thomann . In 2011 the production of the third album Eruption followed , before Stefan Benak took the position on bass for Kai Liczewskis at the end of 2011.

The publication of eruption took place in April 2012 on the Osnabrücker label Time Zone . In this context, another music video for the song Reborn was released. In addition, there was a further reshuffle. Guitarist Markus Ritzinger has been replaced by Timmy Kosa, who was replaced by Robert Koch at the end of 2013.

Sun Is Cycling / 2014-present

Nump with four members 2015

The band has been working on a new CD since mid-2014. This should appear in the first quarter of 2017 and bear the name Sun Is Cycling . While working on Sun Is Cycling , Robert Koch left Nump, which forced the band to design the CD for a line-up without a second guitarist. For the first time, parts of a CD were recorded in the Sonic Storm studio in Würzburg. The producer Dominik Heidinger took over the position on the second guitar since the end of 2016.

However, the work on the CD was delayed because the production should now be made more complex. Thus, Sun Is Cycling's release was dated October 20th, 2017. The band released several teaser videos in advance, as well as a music video for Social Cancer and two lyrics videos for Blood on Their Hands and Cold at Night .
