Nuri Asan (born January 1, 1940 in Samsun , † January 20, 1989 ibid) was a Turkish football player and coach.

Athletic career

Nuri Asan started his career in 1958 with Galatasaray Istanbul . In his first season at Galatasaray Akçay came in the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi to seven league games and scored three goals. In the 1962/63 season he won the Turkish championship and the Turkish Cup with the yellow-reds . In the following season, the Turkish Cup could be defended. After winning the second cup, Asan left Galatasaray and joined MKE Ankaragücü .

Asan played for MKE Ankaragücü for four years. During this time he made 114 league appearances and scored seven goals. In the 1968/69 season he went to the 2nd division to Samsunspor . With Samsunspor Asan became second division champions and thus they rose to the first division. Asan played for Samsunspor until April 1973, where he immediately became head coach.

Coaching career

In April 1973, Nuri Asan became the head coach of Samsunspor. Several short engagements with this club followed.

death

On January 19, 1989, the team from Samsunspor traveled to the away game in Malatya . The club bus collided with a truck . Nuri Asan, the players Mete Adanır , Muzaffer Badaloğlu , Zoran Tomiç and the bus driver Asim Özkan lost their lives in the accident . Other players such as Yüksel Özan , Emin Kar , Erol Dinler , Şanver Göymen , Kasim Çıkla , Yüksel Öğüten and Halil Albayrak were in some cases very seriously injured. Emin Kar, Erol Dinler and Yüksel Öğüten had to end their careers.

Today's training ground was named after the late trainer Nuri Asan.
