Nuri Toygün (born October 9, 1943 in Turkey ) is a former Turkish football player . He played for Eskişehirspor for four years and was involved in some of the most important successes in the club's history during this time. So he belonged to the legendary team of the club, which was the first Anatolian team to break through the hegemony of the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş , Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray and in the 1960s and 1970s a. a. won the Turkish runner-up and the Turkish Cup three times .

Career

society

The beginnings of Toygün's football career are not well documented. After he had worked for the Güvenlikgücü club until the summer of 1961, although from 1960 he was also in the squad of the first division club MKE Ankaragücü . Here he made his professional debut in the league game of the 1st match day of the season on August 27, 1961 against city rivals PTT Ankara . With this mission, Toygün belonged to the regular formation of his team for the rest of the season and ended the season with 32 league appearances. In the course of the next season he lost his regular place again, but played in 15 competitive games, including 14 league games and a cup game, over 90 minutes. However, his career in the 1964/65 season is undocumented. From the summer of 1965, Toygün began to play with Hacettepe GK for another first division club in the Turkish capital Ankara . For this club he played for the next four years. Except in the season 1965/66 , in which he only came to eight league appearances, he was part of the regular formation in his four years of activity.

After Hacettepe GK missed relegation in the summer of 1968 and had to relegate to the 2nd Futbol Ligi , the league rival Eskişehirspor signed him . This club was founded in Eskişehir in 1965 and registered for participation in the 2nd Futbol Ligi , the second-highest Turkish league that was only introduced two years ago. Already in the first season the team reached the championship of the 2nd league and thus promotion to the 1st league . The club occupied middle table positions in the first two first division seasons. The 1968/69 season he helped the club to achieve the greatest success in the club's history with the Turkish runner-up . Up to this season, the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş , Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray decided the Turkish championship and the runner-up among themselves. This success was the greatest of an Anatolian team in Turkish football to date. After this championship, the team established itself as a permanent fixture in Turkish football and reached the Turkish runner-up two more times, twice in 3rd place in the table and twice in 4th place in the table in the next six seasons. In addition, the Turkish Cup ( 1970/71 ) was won during this time, the Turkish Cup final ( 1969/70 ) was achieved again and the President's Cup was won in 1971 and the Prime Minister's Cup for the second time in the club's history in 1972 . Toygün was a member of Eskişehirspor's squad until the summer of 1972 and remained a regular player until his third season, the 1970/71 season , and was then a supplementary player for the last two years.

In the summer of 1972 he was put on the sales list by Eskişehirspor and offered with other players in return for the commitment of Mustafa Kaplakaslan to Altay Izmir . After this change had not come about, he should initially be loaned to the second division PTT Ankara for the 1972/73 season. Since this change did not materialize either, his club loaned him to the second division Konyaspor for one season . In the summer of 1973 he returned to Eskişehirspor and was again put on the sales list by them. After this return, Toygün and his club Konyaspor agreed on a change. This change was delayed after Eskişehirspor insisted on a transfer fee of 75,000 lira, while Toygün, who paid his transfer fee, offered 60,000 lira. Finally an agreement was reached and so he moved to the second division Konyaspor. Toygün then played for this club for an indefinite period of time.

National team

Toygün's national team career began in March 1961 with an assignment for the Turkish U-18 national team.

In 1969 he was nominated for the first time and for the squad of the Turkish national team as part of a test match against the Polish national team by national coach Abdulah Gegić and made his international debut in this game. In the same year he was appointed to the tournament squad for the RCD Cup and made his international A debut in this game. With his club he was tournament winner.

In total, Toygün completed four U-18 and three A internationals for Turkey.
