Nyschni Torhaji ( Ukrainian Нижні Торгаї ; Russian Нижние Торгаи Nischnije Torgai ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kherson with about 1300 inhabitants (2001).
The village was founded in 1840 by settlers from the Tula and Poltava provinces under the name Torhajiwka ( Торгаївка ) and was first mentioned in writing in 1886. From September 16, 1941 to October 29, 1943 the village was occupied by German troops.
Nyschni Torhaji is the only village in the 84.063 km² district council of the same name in the south-west of Nyschni Sirohosy district .
The village is located at an altitude of 41 m on the bank of the 65 km long Velyki Sirohosy ( Великі Сірогози ), about 14 km southwest of the district center Nyschni Sirohosy and about 140 km east of the Oblast center Kherson .
The M 14 / E 58 trunk road runs in the south of the village .
