OBT AG , based in St. Gallen, is a Swiss auditing, trust and consulting company and is one of the six largest companies in this market segment in Switzerland. It has 25 branches in Switzerland (12 OBT, 10 FIGAS and three other branches) and employs over 300 people (including 20 apprentices). OBT AG's information security management system has been certified according to ISO 27001: 2013 since October 2014 . The company is a member of EXPERTsuisse and the Swiss Trade Association and, as an independent member, represents the international Baker Tilly International network in German-speaking Switzerland.
history
OBT was founded in 1933 as "OBTG Ostschweizerische Bürgschafts- und Treuhandgenossenschaft" (today BG Ost-Süd) and in 1972 it was spun off as a subsidiary. In 1998 the management took over OBT, with the owners still actively working on customer mandates.
OBT has been a sales partner (gold status) of ABACUS Business Software since it was founded in 1985 and has been recognized several times as the most successful partner in the past few years, most recently in 2017. At the beginning the product was sold under the own brand OBTPlus.
OBT AG supports the Swiss Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises at the University of St. Gallen by financing a lectureship. Joint studies (see "Publications") are published at regular intervals.

Field of activity
OBT AG's field of activity includes the areas of trust , auditing , management consulting , tax advice , legal advice and complete IT solutions . The customer focus is on SMEs, with the company also advising listed companies, public corporations, foundations and associations. OBT currently looks after around 3,000 customers.
In addition to Abacus, OBT also sells the community solution "nest" and the energy supplier software "is-e" and is the leading sales partner of the Swiss software provider innosolv in this regard.
FIGAS
The subsidiary FIGAS was founded in 1952 as an independent and independent cooperative. The Swiss Auto Trade Association and six cantonal sections as well as seven auto trade companies were founding members. In order to take account of the numerous innovations affecting the auditing and fiduciary industry, the cooperative was converted into a stock corporation on January 1, 2007. At the same time, the auditing department was outsourced as a sister company to FIGAS Revision AG. On October 1, 2010, OBT AG took over 100% of the shares in FIGAS Autogewerbe-Treuhand der Schweiz AG and FIGAS Revision AG.
FIGAS specializes in the automotive industry and offers services exclusively for this market. The "Industry Review" with economically relevant key figures is published annually, which is a guideline for the automotive industry. Not least thanks to this publication, FIGAS is considered to be the market leader in the field of car trade trusts.
