Oana Pantelimon (born Mușunoiu ; born September 27, 1972 in Tecuci ) is a former Romanian high jumper .

She celebrated the greatest success of her career at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , when she surprisingly won the bronze medal in the high jump. With a personal best of 1.99 m, she shared third place behind Jelena Jelesina from Russia and Hestrie Cloete from South Africa with the Swede Kajsa Bergqvist at the same height .

Further placements among the top ten were among others at the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton , the 2002 European Athletics Championships in Munich , the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . In addition, she was several times Romanian champion in high jump (1993, 1999, 2001, 2003).

Oana Pantelimon is 1.79 m tall and has a competition weight of 61 kg. She married the fencer Gabriel Pantelimon , Olympian in 1992 and 1996
