Oberbuchen is the name of a deserted village northwest of Hanau , Main-Kinzig-Kreis in Hesse .

Geographical location

The exact location of the former village is unknown. Due to its name, Oberbuchen is located in the area of the later beech places Wachenbuchen , Mittelbuchen and today's deserted Lützelbuchen and is assumed to be in the district of Mittelbuchen.

history

The oldest surviving mention of the Buchen locations comes from June 1, 798 as marca bucha in a deed of donation from a Luibert to the Lorsch monastery . A distinction between the neighboring beech locations was not yet made at that time. The name of the four places can also be found in the name of the higher political unit, the office of Büchertal . The office of Büchertal belonged to the rule and later county of Hanau , then to the county of Hanau-Münzenberg . Oberbuchen is only mentioned explicitly in 1544 and soon afterwards fell in desolation.
