Obercastrop

Obercastrop was a peasantry , later a rural community in the area of ​​today 's Recklinghausen district . Obercastrop was mentioned in a document as early as 1220. The three municipalities of Castrop, Obercastrop and Behringhausen merged on April 1, 1902 to form the town of Castrop , which became part of Castrop-Rauxel on April 1, 1926 .

The Obercastroper Bach rises in a spring at the site ; it flows into the Landwehrbach .
