Dingen is a district of Castrop-Rauxel in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Dingen, a settlement with a village character, is located on the eastern outskirts of Castrop-Rauxel, southwest of the Castrop-Rauxel-Ost motorway junction . In the north, things are enclosed by the A 42 and in the east by the A 45 . Extensive green and forest areas extend between the town center of Dingen and the town center of Castrop-Rauxel. The Deininghauser Bach flows in a south-north direction through the district.

history

Things historically belonged to County Mark . Since the 19th century, things formed a rural community in the Dortmund district in the Prussian province of Westphalia . The community belonged to the Castrop office until 1889 and since then to the Mengede office. On April 1, 1926, things were one of the founding communities of the new town of Castrop-Rauxel. From 1908 to 1967 hard coal mining was operated via shaft 3 of the Graf Schwerin colliery in Dingen.
