Oberkatzbach is a district of the Guteneck community in the Schwandorf district of Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

Geographical location

Oberkatzbach is located on the Katzbach, which rises about 6 km north of the 622 m high Katzstein and about 5 km further south at Willhof flows into the Schwarzach .

history

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Oberkatzbach was part of the Weidenthal parish and had 13 houses and 85 residents. On December 31, 1990 Oberkatzbach had 54 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Weidenthal.

Culture and sights

From Enzelsberg , 3 km to the east, comes the Franconian Way of St. James , which is marked with a white shell on a light blue background. The next stop on the Franconian Way of St. James is Guteneck, 2 km west of Oberkatzbach .
