The Oberreintalschrofen is a 2523 m high mountain in the Wetterstein Mountains , Eastern Alps . It is located south above Garmisch-Partenkirchen exactly on the state border between Germany and Austria and is a summit of the west-east running Devil's Ridge .

The first ascent took place on August 26, 1871 by Baron Hermann von Barth .

  • north: From the Oberreintalhütte (1532 m) in the Oberreintalkar

Easiest route

From the Wangalm in the south through the Scharnitztal, over the Obere Reintalscharte in two and a half hours, according to the literature with easy climbing of difficulty UIAA II to the summit. In addition, the Oberreintalschrofen offers many climbing routes with levels of difficulty UIAA III to VIII.
