Obertraubing is a district of the municipality of Tutzing in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg .

location

The village is at an altitude of 706  m above sea level. NHN east of Bundesstraße 2 , about two kilometers west of the Tutzing town center in the Traubing district . Traubing is about three kilometers to the north.

history

Obertraubing became a part of the municipality of Tutzing on January 1st, 1978, when the former municipality of Traubing , consisting of the municipal parts of Deixlfurt , Obertraubing and Traubing, was completely incorporated into Tutzing as part of the municipality reform.

Culture

The village has belonged to the Traubing parish since ancient times. There is no church building and no chapel in town. Every year on August 14th there is a field mass with herb consecration as a vigil mass for the feast of the Assumption of Mary into heaven. This event has the character of a folk festival for the villages of Obertraubing, Traubing ,monthshausen and Diemendorf .
