Oberweiler is a district of the community of Meinheim in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The place has 17 inhabitants (as of May 25, 1987) and is located at an altitude of around 520 meters above sea level.

The hamlet is located on the northern edge of the Berolzheim forest , on the northeast slope of the Hahnenkamm, about two kilometers south of Meinheim. The Oberweiler Graben , an upper course of a tributary of the Altmühl that rises in the forest not far to the south , flows past in the northeast. A road leads to the district road WUG 34 from Meinheim to Wolfsbronn .

Oberweiler was already part of Meinheim before the municipal reform in Bavaria in the 1970s. In 1875 the 34 residents of Oberweiler lived in 13 buildings; they owned a total of one horse and 43 head of cattle.
