Oberwindach is a district of the municipality of Windach in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech . Oberwindach lies above the Windachtal .

history

There is evidence of local rule since the 12th century. The name Oberwindach, to distinguish it from Unterwindach and Mitterwindach, appears for the first time in 1254.

On April 1, 1939, the previously independent communities of Oberwindach and Unterwindach were merged to form the new community of Windach.
