Unterwindach is a district of the municipality of Windach in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

history

The Unterwindach district to the left of the Windach river also includes the Mitterwindach district with the castle stables of the local nobility on the other side of the river . The property, known as Hofmark from 1442, came to the Lords of Schmiechen via the Rehlinger family. In 1596, the full patrician family from Munich bought Hofmark, in whose hands it remained until 1825.

On April 1, 1939, the previously independent communities of Oberwindach and Unterwindach were merged to form the new community of Windach.
