The FFH area Odenwald-Neckargemünd is a protected area (protected area identifier DE-6619-341) in the Neckar-Odenwald district and designated by ordinance of 2004 by the Karlsruhe Regional Council according to Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) in the Rhein-Neckar district in Baden-Württemberg . The FFH area is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas .

The FFH area comprises a forest and meadow landscape in the Vorderen Odenwald .

Protection purpose

The following habitat types according to Annex I of the Habitats Directive occur in the area:

• Moist tall herbaceous vegetation
• Lean, lowland hay meadows
• Alder, ash and softwood alluvial forests
• Silicate rocks with crevice vegetation
• Caves that are not open to tourists
• Grove beech forests
• Running waters with flooding aquatic vegetation
• Natural and near-natural nutrient-rich still waters with spawning or frog-bite communities
