The FFH area Odenwald Eberbach is a with Regulation 2004 of the Regional Council Karlsruhe after Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna and Habitats Directive) be trained reserve (reserve identifier DE-6520-341) in the Rhein-Neckar district and Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Wuerttemberg . The FFH area is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas .

The FFH area comprises a cave , an extensive forest landscape in the sandstone oden forest with deeply cut meadow valleys, a basalt dome with a block heap as well as a ravine and beech forest and large meadow area
Protection purpose
The following habitat types according to Annex I of the Habitats Directive occur in the area:
- Species-rich bristle grass lawn
- Moist tall herbaceous vegetation
- Lean, lowland hay meadows
- Silicate heaps of the colline to montane level
- Limestone scree slopes of the colline to montane level
- Limestone cliffs with crevice vegetation
- Mixed ravine and hillside forests
- Alder, ash and softwood alluvial forests
- Silicate rocks with crevice vegetation
- Caves that are not open to tourists
- Grove beech forests
- Woodruff beech forests
- Running waters with flooding aquatic vegetation
- Natural and near-natural nutrient-rich still waters with spawning or frog-bite communities
