history

Offingen was first mentioned in 811 as "Tatinga". According to the form of the name, it could already be during the Alemannic conquest in the 5th / 6th Century. Offingen always had a so-called "Bussinian part" with secular rule, initially the Alaholfinger , Waldburger and later Thurn and Taxis . The rest of the place was characterized by possessions and rights of the monasteries Reichenau , St. Gallen and finally Zwiefalten . In 1805/1806 Offingen came under the sovereignty of the Württemberg state . The incorporation to Uttenweiler took place on October 1, 1974.
