Ogenyi Eddy Onazi (born December 25, 1992 in Lagos ) is a Nigerian football player .

Career

society

Onazi played in his home country until 2011, after which he moved to Italy to Lazio Rome. In his first season he played in the Primavera youth team of Lazio. He made his Serie A debut on matchday 37 of the 2011/12 season under Edoardo Reja . In the 2-0 win over Atalanta Bergamo , he came on in the 89th minute for Senad Lulić . For the 2012/13 season he became part of the first team. Onazi won the Italian Cup with Lazio at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2016, the Turkish first division club Trabzonspor signed him . He has been under contract with Denizlispor since January 2020 .

National team

For the U-17 of Nigeria , he played three games at the U-17 World Cup in 2009 in his own country. Nigeria reached the final. He made his debut for the senior national team on October 13, 2012 in a 6-1 win over Liberia . With Nigeria he won the Africa Cup in 2013 . At the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 Onazi was in the squad, but remained without use. At the 2014 World Cup , he played in every Nigerian game and failed with the team in the second round to France . He was also part of Nigeria's squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Nigeria were eliminated in group stage third after losing to Croatia and Argentina and beating Iceland . Onanzi was not used here.
