action

On a stormy night, the dog and butler Yost reads a book that states that storms are caused by dragons . He wakes the owner of the castle, a bear named Olivier Bommel, to ask him if this is true. The skeptical Olivier accidentally reads a spell that conjures up a dragon in her garden without his seeing it. After the storm, the two see the kite on the ground and Yost goes to the neighbor Tom Puss to tell him everything. While searching for evidence of the dragon's arrival, Yost and Tom Puss find a spherical object and bring it to Olivier, who believes it is a beach ball.

In a bar, the bandit dogs Bull Super and Hiep Hieper are planning a robbery at a party that will take place at Olivier's home the next evening. Both were hired as gatekeepers. The next morning, the beach ball opens, from which a dragon comes out and Olivier thinks he's his father. Olivier calls the dragon Oglu - like his great-grandfather. Later, Yost and a duck named Wammes Waddle, who was recently hired as a party waiter, attempt to bathe Oglu. However, since the dragons hate baths, Oglu becomes huge and aggressive. While Yost tells Olivier about it, Oglu is back to normal. Olivier therefore believes that the two are exaggerating and that Oglu is a harmless child. Before the party starts, Olivier puts Oglu to bed. But the dragon empties his pillow and fills the cover with various items that he finds in the castle, while the two bandits steal from the guests in secret. In the meantime, Tom Puss reads that dragons are attracted to sweet foods and bright objects. So he goes to the party and tries to warn Olivier. But the bear unexpectedly reveals the buffet, which has already been attacked by a monstrous oglu and which then steals the guests what they have left. With the help of Tom Puss, Olivier can transform Oglu back into his little form and tries to calm the guests down. The dragon is still a child and has only growing pains. The local doctor plans to treat Oglu the next morning.

So Olivier brings Oglu to the clinic, but the two bandits kidnap the dragon and rob a bank with him. When Olivier tries to stop the huge oglu, the latter grabs him and runs with him into the mountains. The next day, Olivier wakes up in a cave. Tom Puss finds him and tries to convince Olivier to send Oglu over the Fog Mountains. Olivier refuses and Oglu chases her away. Soon after, Oglu, who went looking for food, is arrested for his involvement in the bank robbery. Mayor Dickerdack and Olivier agree to bring Oglu to the circus, provided that it is for the dragon's sake. When Oglu enters the prison and tries to free Olivier, the bear says that he can no longer be his father. So Oglu returns to the size he was at birth and leaves prison. Olivier goes home and Oglu is taken to the circus presented by the two bandits and Wammes.

When the circus opens, Hiep and Wammes pull and push Oglu into the central ring. Olivier arrives at the circus and stops the act. He shoots his rifle in the air and terrifies the crowd. Oglu grows and becomes aggressive again. The chaos destroys the circus and the bandits try to escape, but Oglu stops them. He brings Olivier back to the mountains, but the bear tells him that he has grown and must return to his fellow species over the mountains. Oglu hears another dragon calling and says goodbye. While Olivier is dining with his friends, Yost burns the book that started it all, and Wammes goes to the mountains to find a dragon egg for himself.
