The Ognon is a river in France that runs in the Occitania region . It rises in the southeastern part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park , in the municipality of Cassagnoles , generally drains in a southeastern direction through the natural landscape of the Minervois and the Minervois wine-growing region of the same name, and after 23 kilometers it flows into the Aude as a right tributary at the Homps and Olonzac municipal boundary . In his opening section he meets the here running parallel to the Aude ship channel Canal du Midi who introduced him to a canal bridge spans. On its way the Ognon crosses the departments of Hérault and Aude .
