Ogy is a commune déléguée in the French commune of Ogy-Montoy-Flanville with 501 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

Ogy is located eight kilometers east of Metz at an altitude between 242 and 281 m above sea level. The Commune déléguée covers 3.74 km².

history

The village was first mentioned as Osey in 1190 and was destroyed in the Thirty Years War .

From 1915 to 1918 and from 1940 to 1944 it had the Germanized name Ogingen .

On January 1, 2017, the Ogy community merged with Montoy-Flanville to form the Commune nouvelle Ogy-Montoy-Flanville. It belonged to the arrondissement of Metz and the canton of Pange .
