The jungle must be crazy (alternative title: Kwagga strikes back, original title: Oh Shucks! Here Comes UNTAG ) is a South African comedy film from 1990 . The German title alludes to the film series The Gods Must Be Crazy .
action
The comedy deals with the not very beneficial presence of a fictional UN peace troop (“UNTAG”) in the fictional state of Nambabwe (made up of Namibia and Zimbabwe ) in southern Africa. The mostly incompetent and only interested in personal advantages members of this international troop make life difficult for the locals and are sometimes involved in criminal business.
The main character, Kwagga Robertse, a shopkeeper who lives mainly from fooling tourist groups into killing a lion in front of their eyes, thwarted these machinations with cunning and humorous means. In addition, he is defending himself with his pranks against the arrogant members of the UN troops.
background
The general plot refers to UNTAG , which in 1989/1990 accompanied Namibia's independence and the holding of free elections.
criticism
