The Oja ( Russian Оя ) is a right tributary of the Yenisei in the Krasnoyarsk region in southern Siberia .
The Oja has its origin in the small Ojskoje lake in the north-east of West Sayan, which is about 1400 m above sea level . The trunk road R257 leads directly past the east bank of the lake. From there the Oja flows through the mountains in an initially westerly direction. Later she turns north, leaves the mountainous country and passes the Yermakovskoye administrative center at river kilometer 80 . 10 km further downstream, the Kebesch , the most important tributary of the Oja, meets the river from the right. Now the Oja turns to the west. A few kilometers from the mouth of the river is the town of Kasanzewo on the south bank of the Oja. Finally, the Oja reaches the Yenisei about 60 km south of the city of Abakan . In the lower reaches the Oja forms numerous meanders .
The oja runs almost entirely within the Jermakowski rajon . Only the last 20 kilometers of the flow stretch are in the Schuschenski rajon . The trunk road R257 crosses the river Oja at Yermakovskoye and at Kazantsevo. The Oja has a length of 254 km. It drains an area of 5300 km². Its mean discharge at the Yermakovskoye gauge is 34 m³ / s. The Oja floods in May when the snowmelts . The monthly mean in May is 95 m³ / s.
