Okçular is a village in the district Kovancılar the province of Elazig in eastern Anatolia . The Zaza name of the place is Waxciyan . The place is located about 30 kilometers northeast of the district center Kovancılar and 80 kilometers east of the provincial capital Elazığ at an altitude of about 1600 meters. It is connected by country roads to the D-300 trunk road, which leads to Elazığ in the west. It is located in the northeast of the district, near the border with Karakoçan . In 2017 it had 658 inhabitants.

The place was particularly affected by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 M W on March 8, 2010 and was badly damaged.
