In 2010 this genus was identified in Daniel L. Nickrent, Valéry Malécot, Romina Vidal-Russell & Joshua P. The: A revised classification of Santalales , In: Taxon , Volume 59, 2, 2010, pp. 538–558 with another seven genera in the new family Cervantesiaceae .
