Olaf Bockhorn
Olaf Bockhorn (born February 19, 1942 in Linz ) is an Austrian folklorist .
Career
Olaf Bockhorn studied folklore with Helmut Fielhauer at the University of Vienna . In 1971 he completed his studies with a dissertation on carts and sledges in the Mühlviertel . In 1986 he completed his habilitation in European Folklore with the extensive work Work-House-Device in Burgenland. Contributions to the Pannonian culture.
Between 1969 and 1970 he worked at the Institute for Comparative Behavioral Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences . From 1970 to 2003 he taught and researched at the University of Vienna (Institute for Folklore , since 2000: Institute for European Ethnology ), most recently as an associate professor.
Several professorships at the universities of Regensburg , Bamberg and Bayreuth followed.
Within his research areas - folklore of Austria, specialist history, work and economics, exhibition and museum systems, ethnicity and minorities - he published countless scientific articles. Bockhorn is a board member of the Austrian Association for Folklore and the Association for Folklore in Vienna .
