Olaf Przybilla

Olaf Przybilla (* 1972 in Wertheim ) is a German journalist .

He grew up in Bavaria and studied German , history , political science and sociology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . After graduating, he was a lecturer in modern German literary studies and literary history at the Friedrich-Alexander University. In 2001 he became a correspondent for the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) in Northern Bavaria, and has been the head of the SZ-Franken office in Nuremberg since 2008 .

He became known at the end of 2012 through research and articles about the Gustl Mollath case , for which he and his colleague Uwe Ritzer were awarded 3rd place in the Guardian Prize of the German daily press in 2013 .

In June 2013, the book he wrote with Ritzer about this affair was published.
