Olav Magne Dønnem (born November 21, 1980 in Øvre Autovermietung ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper . He is the overall winner of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup 2003/04 and was particularly successful in ski flying .

Career

Dønnem started in the 1998/99 season for the first time in the World Cup and was able to achieve fourth place in his third World Cup competition on December 19, 1998 in Harrachov . In the further course of the season he was able to make it into the top ten twice on the flying hill in Planica . In the following season he mostly missed the points. Only in ski flying on the Kulm was he able to place 25th points. At the ski flying world championship 2000 held during the season , he finished 19th. In the summer of 2000 he took part in the summer ski jumping of the Grand Prix . In doing so, he was able to call up better performance again and mostly occupied places in the top twenty. In the upcoming World Cup winter 2000/01, at the beginning of which he was able to celebrate a victory in a team competition, he was able to build on the performance of the summer and mostly place himself in the points. His two best results of the season, two eleventh places, he was able to achieve again on ski flying hills in Harrachov and Planica. At the Grand Prix in summer 2001 he was able to provide stable performances again. In the winter of 2001/02, however, his form waned and he was able to achieve only one World Cup point with a thirtieth place in Trondheim , shortly before the end of the season. Previously, he had already started in a Continental Cup (COC) held in Innsbruck at the beginning of January and was eliminated in the ski flying world championship in 2002 as 42nd after the first round. In the summer of 2000 he started again in the COC, but moved to the Grand Prix at the end of the summer, where a 24th place in Lahti was his only result. At the beginning of the winter of 2002/03 he always missed the second round of the World Cup competitions, which is why he switched to the Continental Cup from mid-December. There he was mostly able to place himself in the points and also jump into the top ten a few times. After taking part in only one COC in summer 2003, he started again in the World Cup at the beginning of winter 2003/04. Although he was able to achieve World Cup points with a 26th place in jumping in Trondheim, he started again in the COC from mid-December. Since he almost always got places in the top ten and he won a few competitions, Dønnem was the overall winner of the Continental Cup at the end of the season. After the end of the COC season he took part in two World Cups taking place in Norway, but was unsuccessful. At the 2004 summer jumping competitions, he was unable to perform convincingly and almost always missed the second round. In winter 2004/05 he competed continuously in the Continental Cup and was mostly able to occupy places in the front midfield. After he always fought for a place in the second round in the Continental Cup in summer 2005 and winter 2005/06, he ended his active career at the end of the season.

Olav Magne Dønnem is currently the trainer at Team Trønderhopp in Trondheim , where he looks after the juniors as co-trainer with Daniel Forfang and head trainer Geir Johnsen .
