Works

Mikulášek was one of the most important poets of the second half of the last century. He started as an editor for Brno newspapers and magazines.

His poetry is one of the more difficult works of literature, so that even the censorship of the communist government could not assess him correctly. His books were not criticized and were banned from 1971 to 1980 simply because he refused to comment negatively on the Prague Spring . His poetic works are directed against the everyday and recurring. On the other hand, he writes about love, solemn odes to wine, to his city of Brno and South Moravia, but mostly connected with thoughts of death. At the beginning of his poetic activity he was one of the representatives of poetism .
