Oleg Alexandrowitsch Ivanov ( Russian Олег Александрович Иванов ; born August 4, 1986 in Moscow , USSR ) is a Russian football player. The midfielder has been under contract with Terek Grozny since 2012 and was appointed to the Russian national team for the first time in 2008 .

Club career

Ivanov was accepted into the Lok Moscow football school shortly after his eighth birthday , but after two years he switched to the school of city rival Spartak . After finishing school he was signed by Spartak Moscow at the age of 16, Ivanov was a regular member of the Moscow team's second team in the first year and then celebrated his debut in professional football as a minor in 2004 when he played on February 24 in the final minute of the UEFA Cup's game against RCD Mallorca was substituted on, his first game in the Premjer-Liga followed shortly afterwards , but in 2004 he only appeared three times in the European Cup and twice in the Russian league before he was to gain experience then the second-rate Moscow suburban club FK Chimki changed, where he quickly established himself as a regular player.

After one season he moved to league rivals FK Kuban Krasnodar , where he developed into one of the best players in the league and had a large share in the promotion towards the end of the season. In a vote among the players about the best player of the 2006 season of the Russian second division, Ivanov received the second most votes. After a year as a regular Kuban's player in the Premjer League, he moved to Krylja Sowetow in Samara for the 2008 season .

National team

As a youngster Ivanov played four times for Russia's youth team in 2005, but it was very surprising when he was appointed to Russia's provisional squad for the Euro 2008 without even being in the squad . For the final squad he was originally no longer considered, but after an injury Pawel Pogrebnjak was nominated for this.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Russian squad . He was one of 6 players who did not play in a tournament.
