Oleksandr Kusyn

Oleksandr Kusin ( Ukrainian Олександр Кузин , English transcription Oleksandr Kuzin ; born October 21, 1974 ) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

In 2000 he set a course record of 2:15:39 at the Baden Marathon , which lasted until 2006.

In 2005 he set a personal best as fourth in the Venice Marathon with 2:10:54 and improved this mark to 2:10:09 in the Rome Marathon 2006.

In 2007 he ran the Linz Marathon with 2:07:33, the fastest time that has ever been achieved on Austrian soil up to that point, and only just missed the Ukrainian record of Dmytro Baranowskyj . The current record was set at the Vienna City Marathon in 2014 by Getu Feleke ( ETH ) with a time of 2:05:41.

Kusin is a police officer by profession. He is married to Tetjana Hladyr , who with a best time of 2:25:44 is also one of the world's best marathon runners.
