Olena Antonova

Olena Anatolijiwna Antonowa ( Ukrainian Олена Анатоліївна Антонова , English transcription Olena Antonova ; born June 16, 1972 in Nikopol ) is a former Ukrainian discus thrower .

Career

At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she was eliminated in qualification. At the 1999 World Cup in Seville, she was seventh. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2000 and at the 2001 World Cup in Edmonton, qualification came out of the game again, and she came fourth at the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis.

On June 6, 2004, she set her personal record in Kiev with 67.30 meters, and at the Olympic Games in Athens she finished fifth. Eighth place at the 2005 World Cup in Helsinki was followed by a sixth place at the 2007 World Cup in Osaka.

She celebrated her greatest success at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 when she won bronze with 62.59 m behind Stephanie Brown Trafton (USA) and Yarelis Barrios (CUB). Since Barrios could later be convicted of doping fraud, Antonova moved up to the silver rank.

Olena Antonowa is 1.82 m tall and weighs 90 kg.

In 2013 she was banned for two years. Your doping sample from the 2009 World Cup was analyzed again and stanozolol was found.
