Stephanie Brown Trafton (* 1. December 1979 in San Luis Obispo as Stephanie Brown ) is an American Olympic champion in discus throw .

Initially also active as a shot putter, she qualified in 2004 with a second place in the US eliminations (Trials) for the discus throwing competition at the Olympic Games in Athens , but was eliminated in the qualification.

In 2008, she increased her personal best to 66.17 m and was third in the US trials. At the Olympic Games in Beijing she won with 64.74 m, where she had over one meter ahead of Yarelis Barrios (CUB) on the silver and over two meters on Olena Antonowa (UKR) on the bronze rank.

Stephanie Brown Trafton is 1.93 m tall and weighs 102 kg. She works in the information technology department of Sycamore Environmental Consulting and lives in Galt, California .
