Halina Konopacka married. Matuszewska, married. Szczerbińska (born November 11, 1900 in Rawa Mazowiecka , † January 29, 1989 in Daytona Beach , Florida ) was a Polish athlete .

At the Women's World Games in Gothenburg in 1926 and the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , she won the gold medal in the discus throw . The 1.80 m tall Polish woman was the first ever Olympic champion in this discipline and in the history of sports in her home country.

Her victory distance on July 31, 1928 with 39.62 m was also a new world record , which was only exceeded in 1932 by her compatriot Jadwiga Wajs with 40.34 m. She was also named the most beautiful woman at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam.
