Olena Howorova

Olena Howorowa ( Ukrainian Олена Говорова , English transcription Olena Hovorova ; born September 18, 1973 in Ismajil ) is a former Ukrainian triple jumper and Olympic bronze medalist.

The bronze medalist at the Junior World Championships in 1992 was tenth at the 1995 World Athletics Championships and ninth at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

She won bronze at the 1997 World Championships and gold at the 1997 and 1999 Universiades . At the European Athletics Championships in 1998 she came in sixth, at the 1999 World Championships in seventh place.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she won the bronze medal behind Teresa Marinowa (BUL) and Tatjana Lebedewa (RUS) with her personal best of 14.96 m .

Further successes were a tenth place at the 2001 World Championships , a seventh place at the 2003 World Championships and a tenth place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
