Teresa Marinova

Teresa Marinowa ( Bulgarian Тереза ​​Маринова , English transcription Tereza Marinova ; born September 5, 1977 in Pleven ) is a former Bulgarian triple jumper .

In 1995 and 1996 she won the world championships in the junior class. With 14.62 m she holds the junior world record in the triple jump.

At the 1998 European Championships in Budapest , she won the bronze medal behind Olga Vasdeki (GRE) and Šárka Kašpárková (CZE). The competition was extremely exciting, in the end it was only five centimeters behind the winner with a width of 14.50 m.

She celebrated her greatest success at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney when she won the gold medal, ahead of Tatjana Lebedewa (RUS) and Olena Howorowa (UKR).

At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton , she won a bronze medal again, behind Lebedewa and the Cameroonian Françoise Mbango Etone (CAM).

Marinowa ended her career in 2008 after being unable to qualify for the Beijing Olympics due to an injury. With a height of 1.73 m, her competition weight was 56 kg.
