Olga Ivanovna Melnik (Russian: Ольга Ивановна Мельник; born May 12, 1974 in Sovetsky ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Olga Melnik lives in Tyumen and studied at the Police College. The athlete who worked for Dynamo Tyumen started biathlon in 1988. She made her Biathlon World Cup debut in 1995 in an individual in Oberhof , which she finished sixth and immediately achieved her first top ten placement. At the start of the 1995/96 season she ran in a sprint in Östersund as second behind Swetlana Paramygina in second place and thus for the first time on the podium. She was ninth in the overall standings for the season. In 1996 Melnik first took part in the biathlon world championships in Ruhpolding . In the individual, she only had to admit defeat to the French Emmanuelle Claret . With the season she missed a medal as fifth. The 1996/97 World Cup season was very successful . In Östersund and on Holmenkollen in Oslo she won her only individual race in the Russian relay, in Ruhpolding with the team and in Östersund in the sprint. The 1997 Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie brought a sixth place in the sprint, fifth in the pursuit and 22nd in the individual. With Galina Kuklewa , Nadeschda Talanowa and Olga Romasko Melnik won the bronze medal in the relay race, with Anna Wolkowa , Talanowa and Romasko silver in the team competition. The last major event was the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , where Melnik was 13th of the individual and won the silver medal in the relay competition with Galina Kuklewa, Albina Achatowa and Olga Romasko behind the German representation.
