Oliver Becker (born June 14, 1967 in Zweibrücken ) is a German director , film producer and author .

Life

Oliver Becker was born in Zweibrücken, but grew up in Vechta and near Diepholz . At the age of 14, Oliver Becker began making his first short films , which were shown at festivals in Germany and abroad and were awarded prizes until the mid-1990s. In 1995 he made his first television documentary with a film about Alexander Scriabin . His special interest in the music of Russia can also be seen in his portraits of Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich . Since 1999 Oliver Becker has also worked as a director for concert and opera recordings. In 2003 he founded his own production company rostrot medien . From 2008 to 2012, Oliver Becker worked as a producer for the new productions of the DVD label Arthaus Musik . With the establishment of the company otbmedien , Oliver Becker's activities increasingly shifted to the field of new media.
