Oliver Ziegenbalg

Oliver Ziegenbalg (born September 19, 1971 in Böblingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German screenwriter and director .

Life

Oliver Ziegenbalg began studying business mathematics at the University of Karlsruhe in 1991 , which he completed in 1998. At the same time he studied media art / film from 1995 to 1999 at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe .

After completing his studies, Oliver Ziegenbalg moved to Berlin , where he still lives and works as a screenwriter. He has written for well-known television series such as Ein Fall für Zwei and also wrote the scripts for movies, including the comedy 1½ Ritter (2008) by and with Til Schweiger and in the same year the Das Boot parody U-900 with Atze Schröder for Sven Unterwaldt . Other films for which Oliver Ziegenbalg is responsible as a screenwriter are 13 semesters (2009) and the German-American comedy Friendship! with Matthias Schweighöfer in the lead role.

His script for the film Russendisko, based on the short story volume by Vladimir Kaminer , was filmed in spring 2011. After the original director Oliver Schmitz left the project after five days of shooting, Ziegenbalg also stepped in as a director. The film was released in March 2012.

For the movie 25 km / h (2018), Ziegenbalg worked as a screenwriter and for the first time as a producer.
