Olivia Chance (born October 5, 1993 in Tauranga ) is a New Zealand soccer player who is active for the New Zealand national team and has played for Everton FC in the FA Women's Super League since 2017 .

Career

societies

Chance began playing football with the Claudelands Rovers. She helped the club to win the New Zealand Women's Cup in 2010 with a hat trick , which was the first time since 1995 that a non-Auckland club won the cup.

While studying at the University of South Florida , Chance played for the South Florida Bulls team there from 2012 to 2015 . She was the club's top goalscorer in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2016 she moved to Iceland to master Breiðablik Kópavogur . The championship could not be defended, it was only enough for second place. But she won the Icelandic Cup with Breiðablik and scored 1-0 in the final against ÍBV Vestmannaeyja in the second minute (final score 3-1). The Icelanders beat the Bulgarian, Serbian and Welsh champions in a tournament in Cardiff in August 2016 in the qualifying round for the 2016/17 UEFA Women's Champions League . Olivia played a total of 126 minutes in the three games. In the round of 16, in which Breiðablik was eliminated by a single goal against FC Rosengård , she was not used.

In February 2017, she moved to Everton, but was only used in the 2017/18 season due to a knee injury she suffered in April. As the penultimate, Everton avoided relegation after relegation in the "Spring Series". In the 2018/19 season she only had one assignment on April 21, 2019. For the 2019/2020 season she moved to Bristol City .

National team

Chance was Oceania champion with the U-17 team in April 2010, to which she contributed two goals. The New Zealanders qualified for the 2010 U-17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago . There she was used in the three defeats against Japan, Spain and Venezuela.

In April 2012, she won the U-20 Women's Oceania Cup with the U-20 team in 2012 , scoring three goals in a 12-0 win over Samoa. With the victory in the championship, the team had qualified for the U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan in 2012. There they won the first game against Switzerland 2: 1 and achieved a 2: 2 against the hosts, but due to a 0: 4 defeat against Mexico they were eliminated as third in the group.

On March 1, 2011, she made her first appearance in New Zealand's senior national team at the Cyprus Cup . In the 1: 4 against the Netherlands she was in the starting line-up, but was replaced after 65 minutes when the score was 0: 3. She was then substituted on in the third group game against France . In the game for 7th place, which was lost 5-0 to Mexico 5-0, she was back in the starting line-up. In the next game in May against Australia she was substituted on again. After that she had to wait six years for her fifth international match. In September 2017, she came to two short appearances in two games against the USA . In November 2017 and March 2018 she was in the starting line-up for two games each against Thailand and women .

She was not taken into account for the 2018 Oceania Women's Soccer Championship and the Cup of Nations in spring 2019 due to an injury. She was only nominated again for an unofficial and official game against Norway . It was then used in both games.

On April 29, she was nominated for the World Cup in France . At the World Cup, where the New Zealanders were eliminated after the group stage, it was used in the three group matches.
