Olivier Berggruen
Olivier Berggruen (born September 14, 1963 in Winterthur , Switzerland ) is a German-American art historian , curator and writer.

Olivier Berggruen is the fourth and youngest child of the art collector and patron Heinz Berggruen from his second marriage to the actress Bettina Moissi . His older brother from this marriage is the investor Nicolas Berggruen (* 1961). His half-siblings from his father's first marriage are the art dealer John Henry Berggruen (* 1943) and the painter Helen Berggruen (* 1945).
After graduating from the École Alsacienne in Paris, Berggruen initially studied art history at Brown University in Rhode Island from 1983 to 1986 and obtained his MA in 1987 from the Courtauld Institute in London. In the eleven years that he lived in London, he worked for the auction house Sotheby’s, among others .
Berggruen curated three exhibitions on important artists in the Schirn Kunsthalle , Frankfurt am Main: Henri Matisse (2002/03), Yves Klein (2004/05), and Pablo Picasso (2006/07) as well as the exhibitions on Paul Klee (2006) and Jean-Michel Basquiat (2009) in the Palazzo Ruspoli (Fondazione Memmo) in Rome. He is a member of the support group for the Museum Berggruen in Berlin-Charlottenburg, founded in 2007 .
Olivier Berggruen is married to an American, has two children and lives in New York City .
