Olivier Sanou

Olivier Sanou (born July 2, 1975 ) is a former Burkinabe track and field athlete .

Sanou began his career as a high jumper . In this discipline he won the bronze medal at the 1996 African Athletics Championships in Yaoundé. In contrast, he was eliminated from the qualification at the 1996 Olympic Games without a valid attempt.

Then he switched to the triple jump . At the African Athletics Championships in Algiers in 1998 , he finished third. In 2002 and 2004 he was then African champion in the triple jump. He also won the bronze medal at the 2003 Pan-African Games in Abuja. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in qualification.

Olivier Sanou is 1.85 m tall and had a competition weight of 85 kg. His younger brother Idrissa Sanou is active as a sprinter .
