Olof Charles "Olle" Ericsson (born June 1, 1890 in Kumla , † July 25, 1950 in Örebro ) was a Swedish sports shooter .

successes

Olle Ericsson took part in the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 and in Paris in 1924 . In a standing position with the army rifle, he won the bronze medal behind Denmark and the United States in 1920 together with Leonard Lagerlöf , Mauritz Eriksson , Walfrid Hellman and Hugo Johansson . Ericsson was the team's best shooter with 54 points. In 1924 he did not get past 14th place with the free rifle and 26th place with the small bore rifle while lying down, while he finished seventh in the team competition with the free rifle.

Ericsson won a total of 34 medals at world championships and was world champion five times. In 1928 he secured his first title win in Loosduinen with the free rifle in the three-position fight. The following year in Stockholm he won the title in the three-position battle with the army rifle and with the small bore rifle in the standing position. His fourth title win he succeeded in 1931 in Lwów in the team competition with the small bore in the prone position. His last world title followed in 1935 when he took first place with the army rifle in the standing position. In addition to his five gold medals, Ericsson also won 14 silver and 15 bronze medals between 1927 and 1939.
