The Olu Malau Islands , formerly also known as the Three Sisters , are an uninhabited group of islands in the southeast of the Pacific island state of Solomon Islands . They are between 19 and 31 km north of Kirakira on Makira Island .
The three islands of the group, from north to south,
- Aliʻite (2.91 km²)
- Malaulalo (3.34 km²)
- Malaupaina (6.37 km²)
are each flat, lush coral islands. The islands with a total land area of 12.61 km² belong to the Eastern Solomonic province of Makira and Ulawa , especially to the district ( ward ) Bauro Central , the main part of which is in the northern part of the island of Makira.
